29.11.2009 - Grönholm 4th fastest in Monza Rally Show

"Retired" World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm and his co-driver Timo Rautiainen enjoyed fourth fastest drive in Italian Monza Rally Show which was driven at the end of November.

In a rally of nine special stages and approximately 156 special stage kilometres Grönholm and Rautiainen drove with Subaru Impreza WRC. Finns were fighting for victory but in final stage and its' 32,5 special stage kilometres Grönholm lost the stage by 27,5 seconds for Moto GP star Valentino Rossi. Due misfortune Grönholm was dropped out from podium by 5,4 seconds gap.

Winner of the event was Citroen C4 WRC driver italian Rinaldo Capello. It was his fifth Rally Monza Show victory and he also gained more success by winning the Masters rally which was driven after the three days of intense rally action. Grömholm didn't make to finals.

Grönholm was fastest in two of nine special stages.
